I second this.


Costa Rica is such a diverse country in a small space. You can experience so much without too much driving. May favorites: Tabacon Resort near Arenal volcano, Playa del Coco near Liberia, Monteverde, Park Manuel Antonio. One place we stayed only had electricity until 10 PM when they turned off the generator and only cold water but it was one of the best. We first took our son there when he was about 5, and our last night in San Jose we asked which was better, this or Disney World that we visited the year before. He said "Oh this, this is REAL!" He's now a state park ranger.
